Better than Most!
This pulse oximeter is my go to tool on the hill when you are otherwise occupied getting the toboggan ready, talking to your patient, calling dispatch, getting more resources, etc. I always remember though, treat the patient not the numbers. The pleth wave helps me know that I am getting acceptable readings, while still considering that these devices are affected by the cold, poor distal circulation, and nailpolish. I prefer this model over the other pulse oximeters I've used and it is very easy to read in the sunlight and cloudy/snowy days. I also saw the previous review and wanted to set the record straight...great tool to have in the toolbox.

ISO Rating
ISO 9919 was actually withdrawn in a while ago... I don't have this oximeter, so I just gave it an average 3 stars for not mentioning being up to date with ISO regulations. The current international standard is ISO 80601-2-61:2017 of which it needs to comply with. On the bright side, the standard addresses the environment where patrollers would actually use a pulseox! "ISO 80601-2-61:2017 is applicable to pulse oximeter equipment intended for use under extreme or uncontrolled environmental conditions outside the hospital environment or physician's office, such as in ambulances and air transport. Additional standards can apply pulse oximeter equipment for those environments of use."
